ZIP FILES

A "zip file" has a ".zip" extension. Zip files may contain one or more files and are used for archiving and distributing other files. A program such as Winzip is required to zip/unzip (add/extract) files. When downloading files, select this option if you have an unzip program.

A "self-extracting archive" has an ".exe" extension. It is essentially a zip file that includes the "unzipper". File size is slightly larger but does not require an external program to unzip files. Select this option if you do not have an unzip program.
